TKO Heavy Bag Wall Mount Review

This mount works great for what it is.Please be aware that for $70 you are not going to get super strength or sealed ball bearings.However it hangs my 100lb heavy bag and tolerates my punching and kicking just fine, and when I need the space it swings the bag out of the way just as advertised.Is a good product at a good price.

Mounting: I would have to seriously question the intelegence of someone that would try to mount this straight to a sheetrock wall.To stand up to a swinging 100lb bag is going to require some re-enforcement.Get a four foot 2x10 from your local lumber store and cut two 20 inch long pieces.Position the supports so that the TKO (top and bottom) brackets will be centered on the wood.This means the outside holes will line up verticly between the screws that mount the wood to the wall.Mount these supports to the wall studs with four 3/8" x 4" lag screws and washers per board.You should have about 2" of wood extended beyond the wall studs and screws for strength.Mount the TKO with 3/8" x 4" lag screws in the outside holes and 3/8" x 2" lag screws (and washers) in the inside holes.You will want to pre-drill all these holes so you are not splitting the wood.This is how I did it, and my TKO mount does NOT flex at all.
