TKO Adjustable Speedbag Platform Review

I fretted for a while before buying this product because the pictures available on the web were limited to a frontal view which did not show as much detail as I wanted. Also the price was a little more than the alternative I was researching the "Valor Athletics (CA-2)".The CA-2 looked very much like the platform I used years ago when I was younger and into boxing and karate but ultimately I selected the TKO 523CPL because it seemed much sturdier and I wanted to minimize the amount of vibration. While I looked at a couple of providers on the web, I have had a good experiencewith Amazon over the years so in case this went sideways I wanted them involved. Therefore I decided to ordered the product through Amazon "Bayou Fitness was the vendor" on Dec 27th, 2009 and received it on Dec 31st which was pretty quick. The box it shipped in had obviously received significant trauma during shipping and was torn on one side and crushed in a few spots. I immediately called Bayou Fitness before opening the box just in case I had to pre-notify them to prove it was potentially damaged in shipping. They were not open for business at the time I called and so I decided not to wait and opened the box anyway. Fortunately nothing was missing or seriously damaged albeit the wood platform had a couple of cosmetic dings on one edge. The installation was pretty straight forward and I mounted the wood platform so the dings were to the back. This is a very solid, well built platform and I have no perceptible vibration which means I get good and consistent rebound off the platform whether I am directly in front or working the bag from the side. This translates to lots of speed and a consistent response from the bag.I am pleased with my purchase.

I've been using speed bags for training over 25 years and without a doubt this is the best one I've used yet. Construction and material of this bag is excellent. I've destroyed my last Everlast bag. Shipping from Title was fast and you can't find a better price.

Everlast Pro Speed Bags Review

This bag is truly worth the price.Of course I'm a little biased to everlast products. They are well built and very durable. This bag takes a beating and keeps the air in it which I never found with century products.I would recommend getting the everlast swivel with this too as it seems to perform better with it.

Everlast Everhide Speed Bag Review

Ok, this bag WAS great. VERY fast rebound and well balanced and pretty quiet. Was a joy to hit.Now for the reason it gets only 2 stars....it fell apart in 2 weeks.3 of the 6 seams started splitting really bad. I had to return it to Amazon to get a refund. I went with another speed bag by everlast which is leather. It's not nearly as fast and is a little bigger....but it is showing no wear after a month of beatings. If this bag was made of more durable materials, I'd try it again.

Everlast Elite Adjustable Speedbag Platform Review

I installed the platform on two 2X4 boards secured very securely into my garage wall studs. This allowed for a very tight and secure installation.Initially the adjustable side of the rails seemed less secure than the opposite side, but with the hand adjustment knobs really cranked down the noise and rattle stopped.Great platform for my once or twice a week use.Nothing like a workout on the speed bag to rip your shoulders and arms.I needed a trip to the hardware store for the lag bolts (10), 2x4 boards cut longer than those supplied, a stud-finder, drill, ratchet set, and about 90 minutes to install by myself.

Everlast Leather Speed Bag (Large) Review

I've been struggling to find a well balanced bag with a good construction. Its pretty much hit or miss I'm finding, but this is a good bag.I have 3 bags, two everlast and one top contender. The everlast vinyl that came with my platform is perfectly balanced, but already has a small rip from use (not a big deal, still usable).I wanted to get a leather bag so that its easier on my hands. The leather on this bag is heavy and can take a beating, and the large size of the bag is convenient for a good workout (Beginner). It is also well balanced, not as well as the vinyl, but much better than the top contender I purchased.

I would recommend this bag.
